If you can only buy ONE book for your newborn, this MUST be it!

If I could only buy one book for my baby, this is it. In fact, I've been raving about it to every pregnant woman I know!
The illustrations are all black and white (and red), which are the colors that babies see first. My son stared in awe and amazement at this book from his first days home from the hospital. I would prop it up in his bassinet on the playpen while I went to the bathroom, and I'd return to find him still staring. He would turn his head to stare at it, no matter where we placed it. At 5 months old, he still stops and looks at it intently when we bring it out.
My only (tiny) pet peeve is that the last phrase says "All for you." (implying that the sun shines, flowers bloom, etc. all for the child). I usually change the words to "All for God" or just leave them out. Ya know, can't make baby all self centered. ;)
Please,buy it for your baby and for others!!
UPDATE: Now 2 years old, my son still asks to have this book read to him, and my baby niece who I care for during the week loves looking at the pictures just as much as her cousin did!

The Perfect Book for Babies!

I am so glad I got this book! I have so many other board books that I was debating whether or not I needed another one but this one got so many good reviews, I decided to give it a shot. And it has now become my son's favorite book! The contrasting colors and patterns are so eye-catching and visually appealing to young babies that they can't stop looking at the pictures. Don't even hesitate to buy this, just do it.

Great for young babies!

A great high contrast book to have in your collection, especially for young babies. It is a decent size and the images are very striking and fun for kids to look at. I like the fact that the words in the book are few and easy to say. I think this will still be a great book to have on hand as my child learns to speak because there is lots of repetition and short, easy to pronounce words for her to practice with.
