In this one, we see Laurel Lee as she learns to live with the problems of being a single parent, combined with the fears of recurrence of cancer. Still in remission, she continues to travel the country, lecturing before women's groups, medical conferences, and Christian gatherings. But more important to her are her three children...and her concern about their fatherless state. She does meet a man, Jeremy Foster, a dedicated Christian and workaholic. This book chronicles Laurel's courtship and eventual ill-fated marriage to him. Where others might find only misfortune and discouragement, she finds wisdom, inner strength, and faith.

Not my favorite, but even middling Laurel Lee is worth reading. I suppose she didn't particularly enjoy that part of her life, either, but probably made the absolute best she could of it, as always.
